The key in communication is all about the response that you extract from the people that you are interacting with. As a salesperson it is all about the results for our clients which in turn has 100% to do with the responses we obtain. Being aware of both the conscious and subconscious communication such as eye movement, eye contact, hand movement and body language to name a few can and will impact the responses you get. Building rapport is the ability to step into someone elses “bubble” into their world and communicating with them so they understand and feel comfortable.
So the bottom line is any relationship of communication it has nothing to do with who you are with … it solely depends on who you are being with that person. Based upon the expectations of both parties it will be up to you to set the tone as everyone mimics naturally, project the patterns in which you want in return and that is what you will receive. Knowing that these people we interact with were fine until we entered into the picture and it is our job to set the tone and orchestrate a professional atmosphere.
